• Improve the overall quality of gifted and talented education.
• Improve the quality of identification, provision and support for G&T learners from the BME and EAL populations, especially underachievers.
• Improve access to G&T opportunities for underachieving BME/EAL learners from disadvantaged backgrounds locally, regionally and nationally.
• Improve support to schools and school leaders for this cohort of students.
• Raise expectations of pupils, parents, staff and the wider community for this cohort of students.
• Improve knowledge and understanding of BME/EAL/G&T issues in a range of schools.
